洋博士寻古迹丨世界杯开锣！“老墨”淄博“拜码头”Darien’s Archaeology Journal in China：World Cup Kicks Off! A Mexican Archaeologist Pays Tribute in Zibo

美加墨世界赛事杯激战正酣，这项圈粉全球亿万球迷的运动，源头究竟在哪？2004年，国际足联和亚足联共同宣布，世界足球起源于中国山东省淄博市临淄区的蹴鞠。墨西哥考古学家谭思博士看完本土世界杯赛事，专程奔赴淄博，循着千年历史脉络，带我们深挖足球的古老起源。

As the FIFA World Cup heats up across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, have you ever wondered where this globally beloved sport truly began? In 2004, FIFA and the AFC jointly announced that football originated in Linzi, Zibo, Shandong, China—home to the ancient game ofcuju. After watching the World Cup matches, Mexican archaeologist Dr. Darienmade a special trip to Zibo to trace the millennia-old roots of the game.

在临淄足球博物馆内，谭思介绍蹴鞠起源于春秋战国，距今两千多年。上至贵族、下至百姓均喜爱这项运动。甚至在宋代，民间还诞生了专业蹴鞠团体与相关典籍，运动体系日趋成熟。历经朝代发展，蹴鞠逐步向外传播，最终在英国发展为现代足球。

At the Linzi Football Museum, Darienexplains thatcujudates back over 2,000 years to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Loved by nobles and commoners alike, it even saw professional cuju troupes and related texts emerge during the Song Dynasty, marking a mature sporting system. Over the centuries,cujuspread beyond China and eventually evolved into modern football in England.

与此同时，谭思还介绍了中美洲的球类运动：古人就地取材用天然橡胶制球，将球寓意为太阳；比赛时可用手肘、膝盖击球。墨西哥古人把赛场比拼想象成神明间的较量，赋予运动独特的文化寓意。

Darienalso introduces an ancient Mesoamerican ball game: locals made balls from natural latex and symbolized them as the sun. Players could strike the ball with elbows and knees, and the matches were seen as cosmic battles between gods, giving the sport a unique cultural significance.

中墨两项古老球类运动形制、规则各不相同，却承载着人类共通的运动热爱。从古代传统球类项目，到如今世界杯盛会，跨越地域与时光的运动热忱始终生生不息。

Though different in form and rules, these two ancient ball games share a common human passion for sport. From traditional pastimes to today's World Cup, that fervor has transcended time and borders—and continues to thrive.
